Navi Mumbai scribes' silent protest at Vashi
Navi Mumbai Press Photographers’ Association along with a large number of city journalists from various news publications and online media carried out a silent protest at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Vashi on February 7, against the roughing up of a news photographer by two Mumbai police personnel on February 6. The photojournalist Ashish Raje, who is also the joint secretary of Mumbai Press Club, was covering the ‘Mumbai Baug’ protests at Nagpada, Mumbai, against the Citizenship Ammendment Act (CAA) when he was allegedly roughed up by the police personnel. The journalists wore a black band on their arm to register their protest.
