Convocation and degree distribution ceremony was held on behalf of University of Mumbai at D. Y. Patil Group’s Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, on  January 25, at the D.Y. Patil auditorium, Nerul.
Amongst those present, numbering about 743 were awarded Degrees by Dr. Mukesh D. Patil, Principal RAIT, Chief Guest Ratan Chopra, Regional Head, Talent Acquisition from Tata Consultancy Services, Shakti Nandan, Mumbai Head, Talent Acquisition, Tata Consultancy Services and Dr.Tanmay Sinnarkar, Registrar, RAIT. Dr. Mukesh D. Patil, Principal, in his address stated that RAIT was awarded ‘A’ grade by NAAC and the three courses, Computer
Engineering ,Electronics Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering are reaccredited by NBA for 03 years.
He also highlighted that RAIT secured 172nd rank by the NIRF ranking 2019. RAIT has been awarded 11th rank amongst top engineering institutes, 3rd rank amongst top private institutes across the country, 9th in placement and 7th in research by Times Group in the year 2019. The
Institution also received ‘Overall Championship’ award in Avishkar (a state level inter university research competition). RAIT also stood first in Smart India Hackathon (Hardware Category) in 2019.
Best Institute of the Year 2019 by CSI, ‘e-Yantra best Hardware Award’ in 2019, ‘Times Icon Award, in 2019 and ‘Zonal Championship’ in Youth Festival 2019 organized by University of Mumbai are some of the achievements that are added to the multi feathered cap of RAIT.
RAIT also won third prize in the competition organized by NMMC and also received funding of Rs. 50,000. This year the college had received funding of RS. 5.05 Lakhs to Dept. of EXTC from AICTE for conducting FDP and also for modernization of laboratory, funding of
Rs. 10.30 Lakhs to Dept. of Computer Engg. The improvement in quality of faculty, research and patent activities, project works and world class infrastructure of RAIT are responsible for excellent performance of RAIT during the year under review.
Further he mentioned,” We have a strong backing and support of our President Dr. Vijay D. Patil, who is our Alumni, a philanthropist, humanitarian, a sportsman, and our President whose
success is inspirational to many budding RAITians and budding leaders of tomorrow.”
Principal concluded his address by encouraging all the graduates for visiting the college regularly to share their industry experience with the students.
Dr. Vijay D. Patil, President, D Y Patil Deemed to be University, Navi Mumbai, in his message, congratulated to all the graduating students and stated that, “Our institute is committed towards all-round development and growth of students. He also mentioned the pivotal role played by parents, faculty and administrative machinery of the college in shaping the future of students. He insisted graduates to become a problem solver and provide solutions in a creative manner in
the pursuit of larger meaning of life and career.”
Chief Guest Mr. Ratan Chopra, Regional Head, Talent Acquisition, TCS, in his address mentioned the changes in expectations of industry from graduates and need of time.
Degree certificate distribution ceremony was followed by award distribution program in that 67 students were awarded with cash prizes under the scheme of meritorious scholarship awards for academic excellence.
It is matter of pride for RAIT that out of graduating batch, 658 students were placed in various multinational companies like Morgan Stanley, TCS, Byjus, L & T Infotech etc and many students are pursuing postgraduation in renowned universities around the world.
The program was attended by a large number of students and their parents. Graduating students in their feedback stated that “technology training and leadership skills they have received at RAIT are responsible for their success post RAIT careers.” This aspect is a matter
of pride and satisfaction for RAIT.
